ALJA and Perimenopause Bestie exist to help you understand your own body and walk into appointments better prepared. Neither is a clinician, and it matters to us that the difference is completely clear.
Educational information only — not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Perimenopause Bestie and ALJA are not a substitute for care from a qualified healthcare professional. If you may be experiencing a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services.
Everything in Perimenopause Bestie and ALJA — the library, the guided programs, the patterns we surface, the summaries we generate, and anything Bestie says to you — is general educational information about women’s health.
It is written to help you recognise what may be happening, describe it accurately, and have a better conversation with a healthcare professional who can actually assess you.
Our quiz and any stage or pattern orientation inside ALJA describe how your answers relate to patterns commonly reported during the transition. They do not establish what is causing what you are experiencing.
There is no single test that places you in the transition, and one hormone reading cannot do it either. Only a healthcare professional who knows your history can assess you — and a symptom that might be perimenopause still deserves to be looked at.
ALJA surfaces patterns from the information you record — what tends to happen together, and what has changed — and shows you the days it counted. These are observations in your own data, offered so you notice things worth raising. Two things moving together does not mean one caused the other, and a pattern is never an explanation.
Parts of ALJA generate responses using an AI model. It can be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, and it can be confidently wrong. It only knows what you have told it. Anything that would affect a health decision should be checked with a qualified healthcare professional.
If you may be experiencing a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services. Go to an emergency department if that is the right call where you are. Do not use this website or ALJA, and do not wait for a response from us.
Never delay seeking medical care, and never disregard advice you have been given by a healthcare professional, because of something you have read here.
Our content is written from clinical guidance and published research, and important claims carry their sources. But no clinician has formally reviewed and signed off on ALJA. We are establishing that process, and we will say so here — with names and dates — only once it is genuinely done. Read our evidence standards →
