Refund Policy
Last updated 12 October 2026
Effective date: 10 August 2026
Last updated: 12 October 2026
1. Scope
1.1 This Refund Policy ("Policy") applies to all purchases from 17967519 Canada Inc., a corporation incorporated under the laws of Canada, having its registered address at 240 Richmond St. W., Toronto, Ontario M5V 1V6, Canada ("Company", "we", "us", "our"), made through Perimenopause Bestie, alja.app, perimenopausebestie.com and ALJA (collectively, the "Service").
1.2 This Policy is incorporated by reference into, and forms part of, the Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined in this Policy have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.
1.3 In the event of a conflict between this Policy and the Terms of Service in respect of refunds, cancellation or billing, this Policy prevails.
2. Definitions
2.1 "Founding Beta" means the invitation-only, pre-commercial program during which ALJA is made available without charge to a limited number of persons selected by the Company, as described in section 7 of the Terms of Service. Registration on the waitlist at alja.app or perimenopausebestie.com is free and is not participation in the Founding Beta.
2.2 "Subscription" means a paid recurring membership to ALJA.
2.3 "Billing Period" means the monthly or annual period to which a Subscription charge relates.
2.4 "Charge" means any individual payment applied to your payment method in respect of a Subscription, whether an initial payment or a renewal payment.
2.5 "One-Time Purchase" means a purchase of a digital product that is not a Subscription, including a guide, kit or standalone program.
3. The Founding Beta
3.1 Participation in the Founding Beta is free of charge, and so is registration on the waitlist. No payment is taken for either and no refund can arise.
3.2 The Company does not collect payment method details as a condition of Founding Beta access.
3.3 No Founding Beta account converts automatically into a paid Subscription. Where the Company introduces paid membership, existing Founding Beta users will be given advance notice, and no Charge will be applied unless you actively elect to subscribe. You will not be enrolled into a paid plan by default, by inaction, or by the expiry of any period.
4. Free materials
4.1 The Perimenopause Starter Guide and all other materials in the free library are provided without charge, and no refund can arise in respect of them.
4.2 You may unsubscribe from communications at any time using the mechanism contained in each message. Unsubscribe requests are given effect without delay and in any event within ten (10) business days.
5. Subscription fees, currency and taxes
5.1 Subscription prices are stated, and Charges are applied, in United States dollars (USD).
5.2 Prices are exclusive of applicable sales, use, value-added or similar taxes unless expressly stated otherwise. Such taxes, where applicable, are added at checkout.
5.3 Your card issuer may apply currency conversion charges or foreign transaction fees. Such charges are levied by your financial institution, are not received by the Company, and are not refundable by the Company.
5.4 Subscriptions renew automatically for successive Billing Periods at the then-applicable rate until cancelled in accordance with section 6.
6. Cancellation
6.1 You may cancel a Subscription at any time through your account settings, which provides access to the payment processor's billing portal.
6.2 Upon cancellation:
(a) no further Charge is applied and the Subscription does not renew at the end of the current Billing Period;
(b) access continues until the end of the Billing Period already paid for, unless applicable law requires otherwise;
(c) cancellation does not, of itself, constitute a request for a refund of any Charge already applied. Refund requests are governed by sections 7 and 8; and
(d) cancellation does not delete your Account, your health information or any other User Content. Your record is retained so that it remains available to you should you return.
6.3 Deletion of your Account and associated data is a separate request and is governed by the Privacy Policy. Cancellation alone does not effect deletion. Where you require deletion, you must request it expressly.
7. Voluntary refund guarantee
7.1 The Company voluntarily offers a full refund of any Charge where a refund is requested within fourteen (14) days of that Charge being applied.
7.2 Section 7.1 applies to every Charge, being the initial Charge and each subsequent renewal Charge, whether the Subscription is monthly or annual. It is not limited to the first Charge on a Subscription.
7.3 No reason need be given, and no exit process, survey or retention procedure is imposed as a condition of a refund under section 7.1.
7.4 After the fourteen (14) day period, a refund is not required under this Policy. The Company will nonetheless consider requests arising from exceptional circumstances on a case-by-case basis, at its discretion. Nothing in this section 7.4 affects your rights under section 8 or section 10.
7.5 The guarantee in this section 7 is a voluntary commercial commitment of the Company. It is not a statement of, and does not purport to describe, any statutory right. See section 10.
8. Billing errors and unauthorized charges
8.1 Section 7 does not limit this section 8.
8.2 Where you notify the Company of a duplicate Charge, a Charge applied in error, a Charge applied following a cancellation properly effected, a Charge for a plan you did not select, or a Charge you did not authorize, the Company will investigate promptly and will issue a refund where a refund is appropriate.
8.3 The fourteen (14) day period in section 7.1 does not apply to a request under this section 8.
8.4 Nothing in this section affects any chargeback right you may have with your card issuer or any right you have under applicable law.
9. One-Time Purchases
9.1 Where the Company offers a One-Time Purchase, the refund terms applicable to that product are those stated on the product page at the time of purchase. The Subscription terms in sections 5 to 8 do not apply to One-Time Purchases.
9.2 Where a product page states a satisfaction guarantee, the Company will honour that guarantee according to its stated terms and duration.
9.3 Where a product page states no guarantee, requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
9.4 One-Time Purchases may be transacted in the currency of the storefront, which may differ from the currency in which Subscriptions are charged. The applicable currency is displayed at checkout.
10. Statutory rights preserved
10.1 Nothing in this Policy excludes, restricts or modifies any refund, cancellation, repair, replacement or other right or remedy conferred on you by applicable consumer protection legislation which cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
10.2 Where applicable law confers on you a right more extensive than that offered under this Policy, that law prevails to the extent of the inconsistency.
10.3 The voluntary guarantee in section 7 and any statutory right you hold are separate and cumulative. The existence of the voluntary guarantee does not represent that a statutory right of equivalent scope exists, and the exercise of one does not preclude the exercise of the other.
11. Requesting a refund
11.1 Refund requests must be made by email to hello@alja.app from the email address associated with the Account.
11.2 The Company will acknowledge requests within ten (10) business days of receipt, and aims to respond sooner. Where a request is made within the fourteen (14) day window in section 7, the date the request is received governs eligibility, not the date of acknowledgement.
11.3 Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. Funds typically appear within five to ten business days of processing, depending upon your financial institution. The Company does not control that period.
11.4 The Company may require verification of identity or of the transaction before processing a refund.
12. Declined requests
12.1 The Company may decline a refund request where there is clear evidence of abuse, including repeated cycles of purchase and refund, or the sharing of Account credentials in breach of the Terms of Service.
12.2 Where a request is declined, the Company will state the reason.
12.3 Section 12.1 does not permit the Company to decline a request where a refund is required by applicable law.
13. Amendments
13.1 The Company may amend this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date will be revised accordingly.
13.2 The terms in effect at the time a Charge is applied govern that Charge. An amendment does not apply retroactively to a Charge already made.
